SSC CGL Selection Procedure
Selection process includes 4 tiers as indicated below:
-> Tier-1: Written Examination (Objective Type) (200 Marks)
-> Tier-2: Written Examination (Objective Type) (each paper carry 200 marks)
-> Tier-3: Written Examination (Descriptive Type) (100 Marks)
-> Tier-4: Computer Test / Skill Test (if it applicable)
Exam Pattern :
Candidates must know about the SSC CHSL exam pattern, details of Exam Pattern Given Below :
-> Question paper will be divided into 4 sections:
(1) General Intelligence & Reasoning,
(2) General Awareness/ General knowledge,
(3) Quantitative Aptitude and
(4) English Comprehension.
-> There are 100 questions for 200 marks and exam duration will be 75 minutes.
-> There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Tier 2 Exam Pattern
-> Exam is objective type and will be conducted online.
-> There are 4 papers,
(Paper- 1) Quantitative Ability,
(Paper-2) English Language and Comprehension,
(Paper-3) Statistics and
(Paper-4) General Studies (Finance and Economics).
-> Paper-1 & 2 is compulsory for all posts and Paper-3 is only for the post of “Statistical Investigator Gr. II” & “Compiler” and Paper- 4 is only for the post of “Assistant Audit Officer”.
-> Each paper carries 200 marks and exam duration is 2 hours for each paper.
-> There will be negative marking for each wrong answer, negative marking of 0.50 marks in Paper-1, Paper-3 & Paper-4 and negative marking of 0.25 marks in Paper-2.

Tier 3 Exam Pattern
-> Exam is descriptive type and will be conducted offline.
-> Candidates need to write Essay / Précis / Letter / Application Writing etc.
-> Exam carries 100 marks and exam duration is 60 minutes and exam duration will be 80 minutes for “VH” and “Cerebral Palsy” candidates.

Part A: General Intelligence & Reasoning
It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern –folding & unfolding, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Indexing, Address matching, Date & city matching, Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence.

Questions in this component will test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.
Part C: Quantitative Aptitude
Questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. Paper II: English Language & Comprehension
Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and questions will be based on spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/detecting mis-spelt words, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts, shuffling of sentences in a passage, cloze passage & comprehension passage.
Paper III: Statistics

-> Measures of Central Tendency: Common measures of central tendency, mean median and mode; Partition values- quartiles, deciles, percentiles.
-> Measures of Dispersion: Common measures dispersion, range, quartile deviations,mean deviation and standard deviation; Measures of relative dispersion.
-> Moments, Skewness and Kurtosis: Different types of moments and their relationship; meaning of skewness and kurtosis; different measures of skewness and kurtosis.

Admit Card :
CGL admits card will be hosted on regional websites of SSC. Candidates can download their CGL exam admit card form respective regional SSC’s website or candidates can also download admit card from this website. Candidates will not be allowed to enter in the examination hall without the admit card.
Answer Key :
Answer key is the collection of all the answers asked in the exam. CGL answer key will be published after the exam on the official website of SSC for all the sets of the question paper and candidates can use them accordingly. Answer Key of CGL exam will be published after each shift (Morning and Evening).you can see Ans Key on this website also.
Cut Off Marks :
Cut off is minimum marks that are compulsory to score to get selected for further recruitment process. it is Different for Different Category.
Result :
SCC Release the CGL Result on their official website. it will upload CGL exam result on its official website, result will be in the “PDF” format in that PDF file candidates need to search their name and roll number. After tier-3 (skill test / typing test) final results will be published. After final results, candidates will be appointed for the posts.
