Cricket Asia Cup 2018 Will be Held at UAE

The upcoming Asia Cup, which was set to be played in India, has been moved to the United Arab Emirates due to tensions between the governments of India and Pakistan, as per the decision taken by the Executive Board of the Asian Cricket Council in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday. The tournament, set to be played from September 13 to 28, will be hosted by India in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The 2018 edition of the Asia Cup will be a six-team affair with the five member nations - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan - along with a sixth country among UAE, Hong Kong, Nepal and Oman, which will be decided via a playoff.

Haryana’s first startup incubation centre launched in Panchkula

Haryana’s first startup incubation centre was launched at Government College, Sector 1, in Panchkula on Tuesday.


Spread over 3000 square feet, the incubation centre, which was inaugurated by Haryana Education Minister Ram Bills Sharma, will initially cater to the students of four government colleges of the district located in Panchkula, Barwala and Kalka.



Launched by the department of higher education in association with Startup Accelerator Chamber of Commerce (SACC), the incubation centre has a sitting capacity of 80 persons and has state-of-the-art infrastructure, a recreational area, mentoring room, mini cafeteria etc., said a SACC official.

Primary target of this startup incubator is to foster entrepreneurship by using tools like boot camps, workshops, regular classes on entrepreneurship, said SACC officials.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launches India's 1st All-Electric High-Speed Train

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off India's first all-electric high-speed locomotivein Bihar.
1. Developed at Madhepura's Electric Locomotive Factory, the all-electric high-speed train is the first big Make-in-India project completed by Alstom of France.
2. Each double section locomotive will have a hauling capacity of 6,000 tonnes. With a speed of 120 km/hr, the high-speed all-electric locomotive will reduce the congestion faced by Indian railways. The heavy haulage locomotives will be used transport coal and iron ore confirmed a senior railway ministry official.
3. With 100% electrification, the new locomotive will not only bring down operating costs for the Railways but will significantly cut down greenhouse gas emissions as well
4. With the launch of this locomotive, India will be competing with Russia, China, Germany and Sweden that have successfully run 12,000 horsepower and above capacity electric Locomotives.
5. Equipped with IGBT based propulsion technology, the locomotive will have the ability to endure the tough Indian climate.
7. Under the Make-in-India project, about 35 locos will be manufactured at the Madhepura facility in the next fiscal (2019-20) and 60 in 2020-21. This project creates thousands of jobs for the local people as 90% of the components sourced locally, Alstom said in a press release.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu Inaugurates Scientific Convention On World Homeopathy Day

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated a scientific convention on the World Homeopathy Day in New Delhi.

The day is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Homoeopathy founder Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann (10 April 1755). 

The theme of the two-day convention is Innovate: Evolve, Progress: Exploring Science since 40 years.


8th Theatre Olympics concludes in Mumbai


The eight edition of Theatre Olympics concluded in Mumbai, Maharashtra after a glorious run of 51 days across 17 cities of India and showcasing the rich heritage and culture across length and breadth of the country.

It was inaugurated by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu in February 2018 at the majestic Red Fort


CWG 2018: Heena Sidhu Wins Gold In 25m Pistol Event

Indian shooter Heena Sidhu set Commonwealth Games record to win gold in women's 25mpistol shooting event.

This is Sidhu's second medal at CWG 2018, after winning silver in women's 10m air pistol.

Another Indian shooter Annu Singh came sixth in the same event.

With this result, India has won three golds and overall eight medals in shooting.
