Gobardhan Yojana scheme from Karnal ,Haryana
Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Uma Bharti, today launched the Gobardhan scheme from Haryana's Karnal district 
Aim:  to positively contribute to cleanliness and generate energy from solid waste.

Launching the scheme at the National Dairy Research Institute in the district, she spoke on the importance of Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources - an acronym from Gobar - scheme as a component of the Open Defecation Free-plus strategy across the country.
Under Gobardhan scheme, cooking gas would be provided to rural habitations and technical support would ensure that the scheme functioned on a sustainable basis,"
"The scheme focuses on managing and converting cattle dung and solid waste from farms and fields to useful compost, biogas and bio-CNG," 
The scheme will help in keeping villages clean, generate energy and in increasing the income of farmers.

India As 2nd Fastest Growing Country For Air Passenger Traffic :ACI Projects 

India projected to be the second fastest growing country in the world for air passenger traffic.

As per the Airports Council International (ACI), by 2022 passenger traffic in emerging economies like India will surpass advanced economies.

The ACI, a global trade body representing airports across the globe, has put Vietnam at the top position with an 8.5% growth rate, followed by India at 7.5% and Iran at 7.3%.

China placed at the 8th position with 5.9 percent growth rate.

Union Government Launches Pilot Scheme For Procurement Of Aggregate Power Of 2500 MW

The Indian government launched a Pilot Scheme for procurement of aggregate power of 2500 MW on a competitive basis for three years under medium term from commissioned power plants without power purchase agreements.

The main purpose of the scheme is to revive commissioned power plants which are unable to sell electricity in the absence of valid power purchase agreements.

These plants can bid for power supply under the scheme.

Bappi Lahiri Honoured by London's World Book of Records

Celebrated music director Bappi Lahiri was feted by London's World Book of Records for his contribution to global music with his immortal song "Jimmy Jimmy aaja aaja".
World Book of Records - London catalogs and verifies a huge number of world records across the world with authentic certification.

The song "Jimmy Jimmy Aaja Aaja", originally picturised on Mithun Chakraborty in the 1982 film "Disco Dancer", has been translated in Russian and Chinese and has been a part of the original score of Adam Sandler's "You Don't Mess with the Zohan".
