PM Modi inaugurates India's first smart and green highway
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated India's first smart and green highway, the 135 km long Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway—also known as Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
The Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) is also the country's first highway to be lit by solar power and at every 500 metres, as there are eight solar power plants on this Expressway, with a capacity of 4000 KW (4 megawatt) for lighting of the underpasses and running solar pumps for watering plants and also having arrangement for rainwater harvesting on both sides at every 500 meters and there is drip irrigation for plants all along the expressway.
Another special feature of the Expressway is that it has a closed tolling system in which toll will be collected only for the distance travelled and not for the entire length. Toll plazas will be
equipped with Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system for faster toll collection and Weigh-in-Motion (WIMs) equipment have been installed at all 30 entry points of the Expressway to stop entry of over-loaded vehicles.
Modi also inaugurated the Digital Art Gallery of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) at the toll plaza in Jakhauli village of Sonipat.

E-Way Bill System For Intra-State Goods Movement Comes Into Force In Seven More States, UTs

E-Way Bill system for intra-State movement of goods will be implemented in seven more states and Union Territories from 27th May 2018.

The States are Maharashtra, Manipur, Chandigarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep. 

With this, the number of States, where the system is being implemented, will go up to 27.  

As per the decision of the GST Council, e-Way Bill system has been rolled out from 1st of April this year. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launches Survey On NaMo App

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a survey on the NaMo App, asking people to rate the performance of the government at the Centre and MPs and MLAs in their constituencies. 

He launched the initiative, to mark the completion of four years of the NDA government, which came to power at the Centre in 2014.

Alan Bean fourth man To Walk On The Moon Died

Former US astronaut Alan Bean, who was the fourth man to walk on the Moon died in Texas, United States.

He was 86. Bean went into space twice, the first time in November 1969 as the lunar module pilot on the Apollo 12 moon-landing mission.

In 1973 he was commander of the second crewed flight to Skylab- America's first space station. 

Bean retired from NASA in 1981 and carved a successful career as an artist.

His paintings, inspired by space travel, featured lunar boot prints as well as small pieces of his mission patches which were stained by Moondust.

The star of the match was Shane Watson who single-handedly guided CSK to a massive win against Sunrises Hyderabad. Watson scored an unbeaten 117 off 57 balls in a high-pressure game.
The Australian smashed 11 fours and eight sixes in his match-winning knock.

Daniel Ricciardo Wins Monaco Grand Prix 2018

Australian Formula One racer Daniel Ricciardo handed Red Bull a victory in their 250th race in the Formula One at Monaco GP.

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, last year's winner at the Monaco GP, finished second while Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton was third.
