The International Romani Day : 08 April 
Romani Day (April 8) is a day to celebrate Romani culture and raise awareness of the issues facing Romani people.

The day was officially declared in 1990 in SerockPoland, the site of the fourth World Romani Congress of the International Romani Union (IRU), in honour of the first major international meeting of Romani representatives, 7–12 April 1971 in Chelsfield near London.


India's best 'State of the Year' award goes to Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh bagged the ‘State of the Year’ Award for its remarkable progress in business and services activities in various sectors of the state.

The remarkable jump is the result of policy decisions taken in the field of business by Chhattisgarh government in the past few years and its effective implementation.

Union Information Technology and Electronics Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad gave the award at India Business Leader Awards (IBLA)

event. The award was received by Chhattisgarh Revenue, Higher Education, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Prem Prakash Pandey.

On the occasion, the minister attributed the growth of the state to the BJP government which has been in power since 2003 in the state.

The state government has successfully completed 14 years under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh.

IAF aims Sky-High strengthening the security with inclusion of 110 fighter planes in its fleet

India will get 110 fighter aircraft for itself, the Ministry of Defence confirmed.

The procurement of fighter aircraft for Indian Air Force was released by the Ministry of Defence.

The total cost of the procurement could be between $15 billion to $20 billion dollars.

The major contenders for the competition are likely to be American Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet, Lockheed Martin’s F-16 V5, French Dassault Rafale, Swedish Saab’s Gripen, Russian MiG-35 and Eurofighter Typhoon.

The new aircraft are intended to replace the IAF's MiG21 jets.

Central Government and Maharashtra World Bank Sign 420 Million Dollar Project 


The Centre, Maharastra Government and the World Bank have signed a 420 million dollar project to help small and marginals farmers in the Marathwada and Vidarbha region of the state.

This project will help in increasing climate resilient practices in agriculture and ensuring that farming continues to remain a financially viable activity for them. 

The Maharashtra Project for Climate Resilient Agriculture will be implemented in rural areas largely dependent upon rain-fed agriculture.

The project will take up a series of activities at the farm and watershed level.

'Gobardhan Yojana' launched to support farmers

The Haryana government has launched the 'Gobardhan Yojana' to provide for the sale of organicmanure and cow urine with an aim to benefit farmers, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today.
A provision of Rs 11 crore has been made to provide benefits of various projects under this scheme, Khattar said while addressing villagers at a 'Kisan Samman Samaroh' in Nizampur village of Sonipat district.
CWG 2018 : Manu Bhaker clinches gold in 10m pistol, Heena Sidhu bags silver
India's teen shooting sensation Manu Bhaker grabbed the women's 10m air pistol gold medal by shattering the games record while Heena Sidhu staged a stirring comeback to bag silver at the 21st Commonwealth Games on Sunday.

Bhaker was the overwhelming favourite to win the event, having bagged multiple gold medals at the 2018 ISSF World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico and the subsequent Junior World Cup in Sydney.
